The 12 Days of Christmas Survival

How to look after your health and wellbeing in the run up to the festive season

Make time & space for yourself. Whether it’s taking time to exercise, get creative or have a long soak in the bath, time for yourself is always a good investment.

  1. As opposed to loneliness, creating space and time for yourself has a multitude of benefits. Being alone encourages us to be more creative “My work is always better when I am alone and follow my own impressions.” ~ Claude Monet

  2. Taking time for yourself allows you to press the reset button and get back in touch with yourself. People often find that when they strip back all their roles of mum/wife/teacher/sister/CEO and come back to themselves they come back to these roles rejuvenated and full of energy. “I restore myself when I’m alone.” – Marilyn Monroe

  3. Many of us focus so much on caring for others that caring for ourselves may fall to the bottom of the list. By spending time alone you can start to attend to what you really need. And if you decide to spend your time alone exercising or practising mindfulness these can have a an important impact on your health
