How to look after your health and wellbeing in the run up to the festive season

Exercise. It’s been cold, dark or icy and the last thing you might want to do is exercise. But here we have some reasons and motivation to get you scheduling it into your week

  1. If you find Christmas a stressful time of year then exercise is one of the best ways to combat it. Studies have found that active people experience significantly less anxiety and emotional distress than active people

  2. Regular physical activity can prevent & manage over 20 chronic conditions, including type 2 diabetes, cancer, obesity, mental health problems, coronary heart disease, stroke and lower back pain.

  3. Studies have found there is an approximately 20% to 30% lower risk for depression and dementia, for adults participating in daily physical activity.

  4. According to the British Dietetic Association the average British person gains 5lbs over the Christmas season. Maintaining a regular exercise regime will help you keep the Christmas bulge in check
